When the pros make a censored "radio friendly" version of a song, they usually have a different vocal track with the same music. If you have a really good ear and lots of patience, you should be able to find the same note (or musical phrase) without the lyrics elsewhere in the song, copy that into the clipboard and again use censor with crossfade. But, it's not perfect, and sometimes it just sounds like a bad edit. I've had some reasonably-good results by using the Censor effect along with reverse* to quickly cross-fade the reversed word into place.

There are some applications designed for creating "loops" (such as FL Studio) but I don't know of anything affordable.Ĭensoring music is difficult with any software because you'd like to maintain the tempo and the melody/notes. Whenever you join songs/clips, you need a crossfade (which can be a few milliseconds if you wish), or you need to set-up GoldWave to cut at zero-crossings to avoid glitches. And if you take your time (and with some trial-and-error) you can beat-match. If you want to cut/splice parts of songs or loop parts of songs, you can do similar things with a regular short Crossfade, or you can edit & fade in-and-out individual clips, and then join them with Mix. I usually don't "fade" at all, I just use Mix to start the 2nd song when the 1st song is fading-out "naturally". I've done quite a few CDs/mixes with "traditional" DJ crossfades.

I do realize that my final edits may not sound as good as a professional DJ, but hopefully at least as close as possible. I have waited almost a couple years for Goldwave to maybe add some better cool DJ effects, but not sure when or if this will ever happen. I have went through just about all of Goldwave's built in Effects and sounds like reverse, censor, Stereo Center effects to do this, but the results are just okay, not very impressive like a real DJ that mixes out curse words or parts of songs, without pauses or noticeable skips in beat of song.

I Would like to use these to do smooth sounding, editing out of curse words, or unwanted parts of songs etc, or for joining different parts of a song together smoothly.
